With her research, Malti showed that concern for others and guilt feelings can help children reduce anger, regulate negative emotions, and decrease their engagement in behaviors that cause harm to others. Based on these findings, she creates and implements developmentally tailored intervention strategies to enhance social-emotional development and reduce aggression and exposure to violence in children facing multiple forms of adversity. Tina Malti has published over 150 scientific articles and has received numerous awards for her research. She currently serves on the editorial board of the journal Child Development and is the Membership Secretary of the International Society for the Study of Behavioural Development.
