What does PREVNet mean to you?

Samantha is a Doctoral candidate in the Clinical Developmental Psychology Program at York University. She completed her undergraduate training in psychology at Queen's University and she holds a Master's of Education in Adolescent Risk and Prevention from Harvard University. Samantha's clinical training has included work with the Toronto District School Board and Southlake Regional Health Centre. Additionally, she has worked with youth in wilderness therapy, residential treatment, group home, and urban high school settings. Samantha helped to establish a residential treatment program for adolescents who are struggling with severe substance abuse and she has a passion for program evaluation. Her research aims to create an understanding of how to effectively bridge research, practice and policy in children's mental health with a particular emphasis on First Nations and Inuit contexts. She is pursuing a Graduate Diploma in Health Services and Policy Research and she is the recipient of a Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship.
