PREVNet, MediaSmarts & Telus Working Together to Understand Online Youth Behaviour

PREVNet, together with partners MediaSmarts and Telus, has developed and launched an online survey for youth 12-18 years to better understand how youth respond to mean coments, posts, and pictures online.

More and more kids and teens are using the Internet, social media, email, messenger services, text messaging, and web-cams. While most online experiences are positive, some young people are using these ways of connecting to bully others. To help develop resources that will help parents and young people effectively address this issue, PREVNet and our partners would like to study how children and teens respond to mean comments, posts, or pictures online; what motivates them to respond to mean comments, posts, or pictures; and their own experiences of being cyberbullied and bullying others online.

The anonymous online survey is open to youth 12-18 years and takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.  All participants will be entered in a draw for a chance to win a tablet!

The survey will ask questions about :

  • How you respond to mean comments, posts, or pictures online
  • What motivates you to respond to mean comments, posts, or pictures online
  • Your own experiences being cyberbullied and bullying others online

SURVEY IS NOW CLOSED (October 9th, 2015)
