Dr. Leanna Closson

Dr. Leanna Closson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.  She received her PhD in Human Development, Learning and Culture from the University of British Columbia.  Prior to joining Saint Mary’s University, she was a postdoctoral researcher at Carleton University.  Her research program explores the developmentand correlates of youth social competence. Her work is to understand how socially (in)competent behaviours including aggression, prosocial behaviour, and social withdrawal, predict social, academic, and mental health outcomes.
