Dr. Kristopher Wells is an Assistant Professor and Director of Programs & Services, Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services, University of Alberta. He is the Co-Founder and Co-Director of Camp fYrefly (www.CampfYrefly.ca), which is Canada’s only national leadership retreat for sexual and gender minority youth. Kris is a founding Board Member of the Society for Safe and Caring Schools and Communities and is the author of the Alberta Government's homophobic and transphobic bullying resources. Currently, he serves as the Book Review Editor for the International Journal of LGBT Youth (Taylor & Francis) and is a frequently invited national and international speaker on sexual and gender minority youth issues. His most recent co-authored publication is entitled, Supporting Transgender and Transsexual Students in K-12 Schools: A Guide for Educators, published by the Canadian Teachers’ Federation. Internationally, Kris’ most recent project NoHomophobes.com has been featured across the world in more than 50 publications including the Economist, Atlantic, Independent, and Guardian.
