Congratulations to Dr. Debra Pepler as the recipient of the 2015 Pickering Award for Outstanding Contribution to Developmental Psychology in Canada. She received her award on November 5, 2015, with a presentation “Research across the Science-Practice Gap: Co-creating Research and Knowledge.”

Dr. Pepler acknowledges that "Although co-creating research in clinical and community settings requires different approaches, it can lead to new questions, new methods, new interpretations, and new directions. My research in the overlapping space between science and practice has formed the foundation for the Promoting Relationships and Eliminating Violence Network (PREVNet: www.prevnet.ca)."

This award is intended to honour an individual who has made contributions to developmental psychology in Canada in the areas of mentorship, leadership, and scholarship. The Pickering Centre for Human Development is located at Carleton University.
