PREVNet received a funding renewal of $1.2 million per year, for the next three years, totaling $3.6 million. The funding is a result of the recent competition for the Government of Canada's Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCE) Knowledge Mobilization initiative. The funding will support PREVNet's continued research in bullying and violence prevention, and the promotion of safe and healthy relationships for all Canadian children.
The announcement was made on April 29th, 2016, with PREVNet Scientific Co-Directors Wendy Craig and Debra Pepler, Kingston and the Islands MP Mark Gerretsen, Science Minister Kirsty Duncan, and Queen's University Principal Daniel Woolf in attendance, among others.
