Dr. Deinera Exner-Cortens is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Social Work, University of Calgary. Her research interests include dating violence, bullying, sexual violence and mental health among adolescents. Dr. Exner-Cortens' work has explored the measurement and long-term outcomes of adolescent dating violence, as well as the prevention of sexual violence in post-secondary settings. Dr. Exner-Cortens' current projects focus on the evaluation, implementation and scale-up of healthy relationships promotion programs in Canadian school and community settings. Dr. Exner-Cortens holds a doctorate in Developmental Psychology from Cornell University, and a Master of Public Health from Boston University. She completed her CIHR-funded postdoctoral work at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health's Centre for Prevention Science in London, ON and at the Faculty of Social Work, University of Calgary.
