Dr François Bowen is also the Associate Dean at the Faculty of Education of the University of Montreal. His research was primarily concerned by the development of social competence in the school milieu. In this perspective, a part of his work aims to understand how the school environment (practices, staff’s attitudes, school leadership, etc.) contributes to social adaptation among pupils. Another important part of his work concerns the development and the evaluation of the implementation and the impacts of school-based prevention programs (e.g. peers-mediation). More precisely, Dr. Bowen is interested in investigating and conceptualizing the best way to implement promising programs taking into account all of the successful conditions.
