Janet Menard studies the neurobiology of anxiety from a behavioural neuroscience perspective. She obtained her PhD from the University of Alberta in 1999. This was followed by 3 years of Post-Doctoral studies with Michael Meaney at the Douglas Hospital Research Center (McGill University). Dr Menard became a faculty member at Queen's University in 2002. Her research examines the neural circuits and neuropharmacological correlates of anxiety and other affective behaviour. She also explores how these neural systems are modified by stress during adolescence.
