Dr. Mara Brendgen is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Quebec at Montreal. Dr. Brendgen conducts research on the interplay between individual, family-related, and peer-related factors in the etiology of aggression and victimization among children and adolescents. Of particular interest in this context are the transactional mechanisms between children’s genetic liabilities and environmental influences that explain the links between aggression or victimization, on the one hand, and child adjustment, on the other hand.
