The Canadian Teachers' Federation (CTF) chose to highlight safe and caring schools for this year's World Teachers' Day on Octoer 5th. They identified safe and caring school as an important topic because of the growing concern being expressed by members about violence in the schools. In a 2014 survey, over 5000 Canadian teachers identified promoting safe and caring schools as an important opportunity for the federation.
