In 1997, Primus entered into the Canadian long distance market, marking the company's beginning. Through strategic acquisitions and successful sales and marketing efforts, Primus expanded its operations with the addition of Internet and enhanced Data Services.

In addition, Primus offers a wide range of Voice Services including, Local, Long Distance, Hosted PBX, Dedicated Voice Circuits, Conferencing and VoIP. The company has supported charities such as the Daily Bread Food Bank, Scott Mission, Covenant House, Mission Services, Good Shepherd Centres, Foodshare Toronto, Toronto City Mission, Second Harvest, The Cure Foundation, Cancer Society, Sick Kids Hospital, Well Spring and Ontario Special Olympics.

As part of their commitment to environmental sustainability, Primus recently contributed funds to the environmental organization, Evergreen, to support them in further enabling their important initiatives.
