Brett is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Lifespan Development Psychology program at the University of Victoria under the supervision of Dr. Bonnie Leadbeater. During his graduate training at the University of North Dakota, his research focused on examining middle school students’ perceptions of and responses to cyber bullying. For example, he investigated how adolescents respond to their cyber bullying experiences and the factors (i.e., social support) that influenced their response as victims, bullies, and bystanders. Brett is expanding this line of research in his postdoctoral training with an examination of the individual, classroom and school level risk factors associated with cyber bullying among elementary school students using data collected from ongoing evaluations of the WITS Programs (https://witsprogram.ca/).
