Jane Bailey, BAS, MIR, LLB, LLM, is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Law (Common Law Section) at the University of Ottawa. She has spoken and written extensively on issues relating to law, technology and equality, including:  technology-facilitated violence in all of its forms (including online hate, harassment, and non-consensual distribution of intimate images). Together with Dr. Valerie Steeves she co-leads the 7-year SSHRC funded partnership initiative The eQuality Project.  Prior to that, she and Dr Steeves co-led the 7-year SSHRC funded partnership initiative The eGirls Project.  Jane has published, spoken, appeared as an expert witness, and filed written submissions nationally and internationally on the issue of technology facilitated violence and the privacy and equality rights of members of equality-seeking groups in our digitally networked environment.  She appeared as lead counsel for the Canadian Internet Policy and Public Interest Clinic in its Supreme Court of Canada intervention on the voyeurism case R v Jarvis, and created and teaches a unique seminar entitled Cyberfeminism in which students focus on theory and policy issues relating to law, technology and equality.
